Canning like CRAZY!

This weekend the Thinnes family took on a VERY grueling & tedious task...we canned over 1800 #10 cans of food storage! I knew that it was going to take a long time, but when I got to the house and saw this...

and this...

I started to sweat it a little! We canned until about 11:00 on Friday night and midnight on Saturday night, but we finished it all...yeah! We canned wheat, rice, beans, spaghetti, sugar, flour, milk, pasta, drink mix etc for all of Ronnie's brothers and sisters and their families. It was so nice to be able to work together to complete such an important project. Here are a couple more pictures of our fun filled crazy day...

Ronnie was such a trooper and manned the canner almost the entire time! Not to mention the hair net (kinda turns me on!)

Here's Tennessa and I (Ronnie's oldest sister) with her super sexy face mask so that she would stop sneezing while we were trying to can flour!

Alicia & Trevor packing cans in boxes...(more like Trevor watching Alicia pack cans in boxes) :)

Here's Bethany-(Ronnie's second oldest sister) First of all, please don't shoot me for putting this picture on here...it's the only good one I had, plus I think it's kinda cute :) Second, Beth was so awesome to let us use her house...she had a layer of powder on every surface!

Ronnie and I in front of a few of our boxes (it took us over 4 car load to get it all back to our apartment!)

A much deserved treat at the end of a very long day! Tennessa, Bethany and I are determined to come up with Diet Coke in a dehydrated form for our food storage...it's gotta be possible!

Last but not least, here are Ron and Anna (Ronnie's parents)...they are so wonderful to provide us with all of this food! Food storage has always seemed like such an overwhelming thing, I had no idea where to even start! They have definitely given us a much needed boost and I am more determined than ever to make sure that we always maintain it. Thank you so much for your generousity and love...you are such a blessing to us! Love you!

52 Blessings-Week 3

Week #3

Once again...way late! "Better late than never" was written especially for me...I'm sure of it!

This week I am thankful for this...

...A husband that works hard! There are so many days that he gets home from work and just crashes! I am so glad that he is willing to do what it takes to take care of me. I love you Hottie! I snuck this one in too...

...out like a light!

52 Blessings-Week 2

Week #2

Wow! Has this been one CRAZY week! It's been my intention to sit down and write this blog several different times this past week, but every time I try, it seems that something else comes up. Work has been especially stressful...we had several meetings going on with a lot of preparation that went into each one of them. There were times that it seemed like everything was falling apart with no solution or way to repair the damage (canceled flights, UPS delays, incorrect data, canceled meetings etc etc)...some of you that are reading this know exactly what I am talking about because you may have been there with me at 10:00pm on Friday night...for the rest of you...JUST TRUST ME! At times I thought we should just give up and go home, so it may be strange that the blessing I have chosen for this week is my JOB! There are a lot of people out there...people that I know personally who have lost their jobs and have no where to turn. Every day that I come home stressed and exhausted I am comforted to know that I will still have a job to go to tomorrow, the next day and the next day after that. It definitely makes it worth the blood, sweat, and yes...even sometimes the tears!
I found this picture that I thought I would show along with this post. This is me and my manager Patty (on the right-very pregnant at the time!) and a couple of other girls at our annual Convention-I think that this was the one in Atlanta! We were at the end of a very long week and this is us all dressed up right before our big Awards Banquet!

52 Blessings

This is such a great idea that was posted on Ashley's Blog! Once a week you have to blog about a blessing in your life. In today's world it seems like we tend to focus so much attention on all the bad things that are going on that we forget to be thankful for all of the blessings that the Lord has given to us. I for one am sooo guilty of this! I hope that this project helps me realize even more how truly fortunate I am.
So, this is a day late, but here it goes!

Week #1
I am so thankful for my Temple marriage and for my husband who took me there. I love the peaceful feeling every time I go inside and I'm comforted to know that I will be able to have an Eternal Family. I love my husband for being worthy to take me there. Here is a picture of Ronnie and I in front of the beautiful Bountiful Temple.

Christmas 2008

These may be a little late, but I couldn't resist posting them! We had an awesome Christmas (other than the fact that we were missing 2 brothers), but we had a lot of fun with who was there. Ronnie and I got a Wii for Christmas and I think that ended up being one of our favorite things to play! Going through looking at everyone's Christmas pictures I noticed that almost everyone looks like Super Models on Christmas morning...what's that all about? I didn't even shower before we started digging into the presents...is something wrong with me? Take a look for yourself! I know I know...scary..,huh? Next year I'll make more of an effort to look beautiful! Like my mom mentioned in her blog, our favorite Christmas gift was talking to by brother Brendan who is serving a mission in Brazil...I almost made it through the whole call without crying, but as soon as we started singing Happy Birthday to him (his B-Day is the day after Christmas) I lost it! Here is a little video of him singing in Portugese...hope you can hear it!

Here's one more cute little video...it appears that Gwen wasn't having as much fun as the rest to us during Bren's call.
